The Southern Oregon Mountain Bike Association puts on the Spring Thaw and it is quite a ride! The race takes the riders over 25 miles through Siskiyou Mountain majesty beginning and ending in Lithia Park in Ashland. Miles and miles of single-track bliss. Much of it is straight up but, as usual, there is an equal amount of hair raising straight down.

Sports Training

Siskiyou Massage sponsored two amazing riders this year. We are honored to have them race in our jersey. We were excited before they even took off from the start but when we saw both of them standing up on the top of the podium in their categories we were elated!

Congratulations to Alex Newport-Berra and to Amy Smith!

Alex Newport-Berra finished in first place in the Single Speed category; an unnaturally demanding kind of bike riding. He is a local fellow who likes to ride bikes, teaches Bikram's Yoga, ponders on life's beauty, and then ride bikes again. He has a great blog. Check it out here!

Sports and Injury Rehab Massage TherapyAmy Smith finished in first place in the Women's Cat 2, age 34 and under category. She is a nurse, a massage therapist and a tough athlete! She wasn't feeling great that day and was a little nervous about the ride. It was a complete surprise to her that she finished in first place! She's funny. If you know Amy, ask her about her recent historic first place in Mexico... and the ensuing visit to her campsite on the beach by the mayor.

It was an epic day for all of us, and we loved it!
